Why Servicing Your E-Bike Matters (More Than You Think) 

If you’re riding an e-bike regularly, whether it’s for commuting, fitness or fun, keeping it well serviced is essential. E-bikes are heavier and more powerful than standard bikes, which means they place extra stress on key components like chains, brakes and drivetrains. While manufacturers know this and often spec more rugged and durable components for E-bikes, if left unchecked these extra loads can lead to faster wear and potentially more expensive repairs down the track. 

At Giant Lygon St, our e-bike service is tailored specifically for the demands of electric bikes. It includes everything from a detailed inspection, including a health check on your motor and battery system (diagnostics report), as well as software updates and torque checks, ensuring your ride stays smooth, efficient, and safe. We also assess your drivetrain wear and braking performance. 

This differs from our standard Lygon Works service, which covers all the key mechanical elements of traditional bikes, but does not include a diagnostics report or software updates. 

Whether you're noticing reduced battery range, noisy brakes, or just want peace of mind before your next long ride, regular e-bike servicing helps you catch issues early and extend the life of your components.
